Habitat & Design

Come to Saint-Etienne, to a morning dedicated to Habitat and Design, tied with workshops organized during the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne 2019 “Me, you, nous.” In the afternoon, discover in Firminy the synthesis of a running research on “the ambition of transformation of a classified area with remarkable heritage sites” and “architecture of transformation, from modern city, to sustainable city.”
Visit of sample dwelling, witness of Le Corbusier “Unité d’Habitation” and visit of a transformed dwelling in La Corniche area. Discover “La Cité des Ainés” (the city of the ancients), a visit of the location elaborated together with designers.

Draft program:

• 9 am – Buses departure from Saint-Etienne station to reach “Cité du Design”
• 9:30 am – Festival participants arrival at “Cité du Design”
• 10 am/0:30 pm –  Conference (FR) on Habitat & Design – presentation on pieces developped during the Design Biennial
• 0:30 pm/1:30 pm – Lunch
• 1:30 pm – Buses departure for Firminy and la cité des Ainés
• 2 pm – Beginning of both visits
• 5 pm – Departure from visit sites to Saint-Etienne station
